GPX Depth Advantage
GPX 5000 Field Results
Product Overview
GPX 5000 Illustrated
Technologies Overview
Minelab’s MPS, DVT and SETA technologies make these GPX
detectors the deepest, most powerful and most sensitive ever.
Multi Period Sensing transmits, receives and analyses a
stream of long and short pulses to SENSE GOLD whilst
ignoring ground minerals.
Dual Voltage Technology uses pulses with 2 voltage levels
to put MORE POWER into the ground, enabling deeper
detection.
Smart Electronic Timing Alignment uses mathematically
precise Soil/Timing alignment for MAXIMUM DEPTH and
sensitivity across ALL ground conditions.
Auto Tune
Eliminates electrical interference.
Manual Tune is also available via the
menu.
Threshold
Adjusts the background hum to allow
faint targets to be heard.
Search Mode
Selects pre-programmed settings suited
to different detecting conditions for
switch on and go detecting.
Soil/Timings
Modifies the digital switching and
processing of the electronics to achieve
maximum performance for different
soils and target types.
Coil/Rx
Changes the search pattern of a
Double-D coil, giving improved
performance under certain conditions.
Ground Balance
Selects Tracking or Fixed GB. Can
be optimised with menu adjustable
Ground Balance Type and Tracking
Speed options.
LCD Menu Interface
LCD menu with backlight
Simple 2 dial menu control system
The high performance GPX 5000 and 4800 detectors are capable
of nding more GOLD than ever before — from sub-gram
nuggets to ‘retirement nuggets and everything in between!
NEW improved electronics, NEW Soil/Timings and an amazing range
of features combined with the legendary GPX ability to see through
ground mineralisation gives you a significant depth advantage over
other detectors.
Using unique features, functions and industry leading technology
ensures the GPX detectors run smooth and quiet even in the most
severe ground conditions, whilst still maintaining excellent depth and
sensitivity to gold nuggets.
Easy for the beginner through to the professional — you can switch on
and go with factory preset Search Modes and automatic functions.
If you’re looking for the very best gold detector - LOOK NO FURTHER
Serious detectorists know that GPX detectors nd gold much
deeper than ANY other detector, in ALL ground conditions!
That’s why we are condent to say we have the
GPX Depth Advantage!
Sens Extra
Most mineralised groundNon-mineralised ground
Packed with most of the features and
benets of the GPX 5000 in a more
economical package
6 Soil/Timings is like having 6 detectors in 1, find more
gold in more ground conditions
Coin/Relic Timing is the deepest ever for benign ground
conditions
Improved electronics for increased target sensitivity and
ground balance performance (includes improved Enhance
Timing)
3 factory preset Search Modes for switch on and go
simplicity for everyone
Automatic Ground Balance options to suit all conditions
Rx Gain adjustment for adjusting Sensitivity
Lightweight Li-ion Battery with inbuilt Speaker Booster
capability
11” Double-D coil as standard
More new features & functions make the
GPX 5000 the best gold detector in the
world!
8 Soil/Timings is like having 8 detectors in 1, find more
gold in ALL ground conditions
Fine Gold Timing gives even more depth and sensitivity
than Enhance — bring home more nuggets even from
ground thought to be completely worked out!
Salt/Gold Timing improved performance on both large and
small nuggets in salty mineralised ground. Also great at the
beach

Coin/Relic
Minelab eld tester, WA
I counted up all the small
gold I have found in this site,
so far it is 419 pieces for 210
grams ...and thats in flogged,
extreme ground!
Minelab eld tester, VIC
Having fallen in love with the
GPX-4500, I was quite excited to test Minelabs newest gold detector, the
GPX 5000. I headed straight out to some old hot ground patches that had
previously produced several nuggets using Enhance. The 5000 worked great.
It was stable, had a perfect ground balance, and it wasn’t long before I got
a few signals, and very small nuggets came to light quite easily - I couldn’t
believe it! The GPX 5000 in Fine Gold had no problems picking up 0.4 -1.0
gram nuggets at very impressive depths, with the signals barely recognised
in Enhance and Normal Timings. What a detector!
Fine Gold
Proven results through extensive eld testing.
Fine Gold (GPX 5000 ONLY)
Finds sub-gram gold nuggets that
Enhance cannot. It is more sensitive and
detects deeper than Enhance.
Enhance (Improved)
Runs quietly in most heavily mineralised,
variable and “hot rock“ infested grounds
using a Monoloop coil. It is more sensitive
and detects deeper than Sensitive Smooth
but can be slightly more affected by severe
ground mineralisation.
Normal
Gives great performance on a wide range
of soil conditions, and target sizes. It is a
good default timing to assess a new area.
Salt-Coarse (GPX 4800 ONLY)
Finds large nuggets in salt affected and
mineralised ground.
Coin/Relic
Gives signicantly greater depth on
medium to large targets in areas with
nil to very mild ground mineralisation.
Sensitive Extra
Provides the best signal response on
small gold in mild to medium ground
mineralisation.
Sharp
Finds a good variety of target sizes in
mildly mineralised ground. Similar but
more powerful than Normal. It is capable
of an improvement in depth, but is also
more susceptible to interference and
ground noise.
Sensitive Smooth (GPX 5000 ONLY)
Is optimised for the most severe, heavily
mineralised, variable and hot rock” infested
grounds, even when using a Monoloop
coil.
Salt/Gold (GPX 5000 ONLY)
Provides the best signal response on
small to large gold in salt saturated
and mineralised ground conditions. It
will operate very well on salt lakes and
beaches.
